Man swallowed 220 diamonds when caught by police

PoliceMaleThe Philippines recently arrested a 25-year-old man for swallowing a total of 220 diamonds to smuggle them out of the country.

According to Paul Ramaloko, chief of the South African police department, this reckless smuggler was arrested by investigators on the evening of November 13 while waiting at the security gate of OR Tambo International Airport, on the outskirts of Johannesburg.

The police chief also added that an airport scanner had detected many small diamonds in the young man's stomach. According to him, the smuggler was on his way toDubai.

The authorities immediately gave the smuggler laxatives to search for the diamonds. There were a total of 220 diamonds, estimated to be worth 2.3 million USD (equivalent to 48 billion VND).

South Africa is known as one of the top diamond producing countries in the world.
