The People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities need to direct Steering Committee 389, relevant agencies and authorities at all levels to strengthen inspection and strict control, especially at border gates, trails and openings in border areas to promptly detect and strictly handle cases of trading, slaughtering and transporting pigs and pig products that do not ensure disease safety; immediately put an end to the situation of smuggling, transporting and illegally trading pig products in and out of Vietnam.
Previously, as VietNamNet reported, although there was a ban on exporting pigs to China due to insufficient conditions, in recent days, because the price of pigs in the Chinese market is twice as high as in Vietnam, traders still rushed to bring pigs across the border to the neighboring country. Not only that, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of CP Livestock Joint Stock Company said that there is a situation of exporting pigs to China, both meat pigs and breeding pigs (pigs weighing 10-30kg).
