The disguised prostitution den in Anh Son belongs to Ms. Nguyen Thi Duc - former vice chairwoman of Anh Son district.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Duc (born in 1947) was arrested for “harboring and brokering prostitution”. Ms. Duc is the retired Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Anh Son District (Nghe An).

On the morning of August 13, according to a source from Anh Son district police, this agency has just discovered and successfully destroyed a prostitution ring disguised as motels.

Accordingly, in the past time, the police of Anh Son district, Nghe An continuously received information from people about the emergence of prostitution in motels in the town. Immediately, the police agency stepped in to verify the information and arranged for people to monitor the suspicious motels. However, monitoring was difficult because these motels operated with sophisticated tricks and were usually built in a closed-off style.

Faced with the above situation, the Investigation Police Department of Anh Son District Police established a special project with code number 612D "Prostitution" to focus forces on investigating and fighting to solve the case.

At 6:00 p.m. on August 9, 2012, detectives discovered prostitution at Khanh Toan motel, block 2, Anh Son town, but it was very difficult to approach the motel at that time. At 7:45 p.m. the same day, a young man appeared on a motorbike from Con Cuong and went straight to the motel. The detectives secretly followed, and at 8:30 p.m., the detectives suddenly raided and caught a couple in room number 2, on the first floor of the motel, organizing prostitution.

At the hotel room, the investigation agency seized a large number of condoms, including 2 used ones, and 1,622,000 VND from prostitution. The buyer was Nguyen Manh H., residing in Hung Son commune, Anh Son. The seller was Ngan Thi Dung (born in 1974), residing in Mau Duc commune, Con Cuong district. The two parties agreed to pay 200,000 VND each time they bought sex.

The owner of Khanh Toan motel, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duc (born in 1947), was arrested shortly after for “harboring and brokering prostitution”. It is known that Ms. Duc is the retired Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Anh Son district.

The case is currently being investigated by Anh Son district police.
