Pear guava is an easy-to-grow guava variety, so it can be planted at any time of the year. The growing period is short, the fruit set rate and yield are high, and can be harvested year-round. The Taiwanese pear guava with few seeds is currently being grown in Nghia Son and Nghia Lam communes. It is a new guava variety that is less susceptible to disease, has a hard, healthy trunk, and is resistant to pests and diseases.
This guava variety can also be proactive in the fruiting of the tree. When the tree is well cared for, it can bear fruit after 6 months after planting. The time from when the fruit is left to when it ripens depends on the season (summer: 3 months to 3.5 months; winter: 4 months to 4.5 months). After each harvest, the branches must be pruned so that the tree continues to sprout, flower and bear fruit.

When the fruit is as big as a thumb, you must use a specialized bag to cover the fruit. Alternatively, you can use a plastic bag lined with foam, paper or old cloth sewn into a fruit cover. Covering the fruit will help the fruit avoid harmful insects and help the guava to be delicious, ensuring hygiene and food safety.
