Olaha cannot return to SLNA for fear of being banned from playing by FIFA
(Baonghean.vn) – Foreign player Michael Olaha was unable to return to play in the V.League due to his previous commitment to a club in the Israeli National Championship - Hapeol Tel Aviv.
Michael Olaha is one of the most successful foreign players to ever set foot in Nghe An. After 3 seasons, the Nigerian player was sought after by many V.League teams. However, while SLNA had not yet renewed his contract, Michael Olaha signed a preliminary contract with Hapeol Tel Aviv Club in the Israeli National Championship.
Besides Song Lam Nghe An, Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club also contacted Olaha with the hope of recruiting him to play. However, no team achieved this wish because in the middle of the 2019 season, Hapoel Tel-Aviv Club successfully recruited a foreign player from SLNA. The contract is for 4 years and the signing fee is not disclosed.

Michael Olaha said: “If I play in the V.League, I will only play for SLNA Club. I cannot break the contract with Hapoel Tel-Aviv Club because of the signed obligations. If I break the contract, I will be sued, violate FIFA transfer rules and be banned from playing.”
The club that Olaha is playing for is a traditional team, having participated in the UEFA Champions League in 2011 and continuously participating in the Europa League. At the end of the 2018-2019 season, this team ranked 8th overall in the Israeli National Championship.
This means that all speculations that Ha Tinh and some V.League clubs are aiming to recruit this striker are unsuccessful. Currently, the 2019-2020 season has started, Michael Olaha still cannot play because he has not had time to register.
