The match between Thailand and China was quite exciting with an open game when both teams created a series of dangerous attacks. Although they were considered to be slightly better than Olympic Thailand, China could not gain control of the game. On the contrary, Olympic Thailand with many technical and powerful players and a reasonable defensive counter-attacking style caused many difficulties for China.

The turning point of the match came in the 34th minute when Yang Ting was sent off (receiving a red card for illegally tackling a Thai player in front of the penalty area) and China was reduced to 10 men. Taking advantage of the advantage, the Thai Olympic team rushed forward to attack and scored the opening goal from striker Kraisorn Adisak in the 47th minute.

Having lost a man and conceded a goal, China had nothing to lose and had to use all their strength to rush into the Thai field to find an equalizer. But when all of China's efforts were still fruitless, Kraisorn Adisak "finished off" the Chinese Olympic team with a goal that sealed a 2-0 victory for Thailand in the 76th minute.

Beating China 2-0, Thailand won a ticket to the quarterfinals to meet Jordan.

Results of the round of 16 matches of Asiad 2014:Japan - Pakistan: 4-0, South Korea - Hong Kong: 3-0, Jordan - Kyrgyzstan 2-0. Japan will meet South Korea in the quarterfinals.
