Mr. Dinh Van Dung - former assistant head coach of Song Lam Nghe An accepted to lead Kon Tum Football Club

At the end of the 2023/24 season, coach Dinh Van Dung stopped working as assistant head coach at Team 1 Song Lam Nghe An. After a period of rest, the successful coach of Nghe An football decided to join Kon Tum Football Club as captain.

In an interview with Nghe An Newspaper, the coach born in 1960 shared: "This year I am over 60 years old, but my passion for football is still burning. So, when I received an offer from the leadership of Kon Tum Football Club, I agreed to continue to try my hand in a new environment. I see that Kon Tum Football Club is a team full of ambition, with many potential players. I am very excited to come work at this club. Here, I was offered the role of head coach or Technical Director of Kon Tum Football Club by the team leadership."

Coach Dinh Van Dung was born in Thanh Hoa province, but almost his entire career was associated with Song Lam Nghe An. In 1985, Mr. Dung joined Song Lam Nghe An. After retiring in 1996, he moved to coaching at the Nghe An youth football training center.

For nearly 30 years as head coach for Song Lam Nghe An youth teams, Mr. Dung has brought home many Gold Medals for Nghe An football. These include 4 championships with U18, U19 Song Lam Nghe An at the National U18 and U19 Tournaments, 2 Gold Medals at the National U21 Tournament with U21 Song Lam Nghe An and many other championships with Song Lam Nghe An youth teams. He is considered a "golden" coach for Nghe An youth football.

Notably, Mr. Dung was once a member of the coaching staff of U19 Vietnam - the generation of players who made history for Vietnamese football with a ticket to the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.

With many years of experience as a coach, Kon Tum Football Club hopes that the strategist born in 1960 will help the team perform well in the Second Division, thereby getting promoted next season.
