Santa Claus asked to be fired for mocking chubby boy

An American woman has called for a Santa Claus to be fired after he allegedly made fun of her son's appearance, leaving him crying.

Ashley Mayse took her son Anthony to Forest City, North Carolina, on December 3 to participate in Christmas activities, according toTelegraph.

Anthony went to see Santa and said his wishes were for an iPod Touch and a bagpipe.

"After the photo was taken, he said, 'Don't eat the burger and fries anymore,'" Anthony said. "It was really disrespectful and I felt terrible. I went out and cried because I felt so bad. I cried until I went to bed."

“He acted like he didn’t want to do it,” Mayse said of the incident. “I’ve never seen anything like it. It blew my mind. I wished a million times we hadn’t gone there.”

The Santa impersonator was hired by the local government to deliver Christmas messages. The town manager said he apologized to Mayse’s family, but she and Anthony still called for him to be fired.

"I hope he gets fired because I don't want any child to go through what my son went through. It was traumatizing for him," Mayse said."I wanted to tell him that a 9-year-old child should not be disrespected. No matter what the other person's appearance is, it doesn't matter."

Anthony said he tore up the photo he took with Santa Claus during the trip. According toFox News, the person who plays Santa Claus has now resigned.
