Mr. Lang Van Chien: Focus on economic development, accelerate poverty reduction

In the 2010 - 2016 term, I participated in the People's Council at 2 levels, Chairman of the District People's Council and Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Council of the Provincial People's Council, and was assigned to be the head of the delegation of the Provincial People's Council elected in Quy Chau; I made great efforts to fulfill my responsibilities, regularly went to supervise in mountainous districts, grasped and reflected the voters' thoughts and aspirations to the People's Council and provincial-level sectors.

Now being introduced to run for the Provincial People's Council for the 2016 - 2021 term, elected in Quy Chau district, I myself am aware that Quy Chau is still a poor district, people's lives still face many difficulties, especially those in remote areas; technical infrastructure is still lacking, not meeting the requirements of local socio-economic development... Therefore, the responsibility of the leader, the responsibility of the Party Committee and the government requires greater efforts and determination to make Quy Chau develop more and more...

If elected by voters as a representative of the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term, I will focus on the following key issues and tasks:

First: Build for yourself a specific work plan and program to both fulfill your duties and responsibilities as a People's Council delegate.

Second: Together with the Standing Committee, the District Party Committee Executive Committee organizes research, dissemination, study and implementation of the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, bringing the resolutions into life through specific programs, projects and plans. Focus on economic development, accelerating poverty reduction, developing culture and society, ensuring national defense and security in the area. In addition, doing a good job in Party building, building the political system, taking care of building and improving the quality of cadres from the district to the grassroots.

Third: Continuously cultivate moral qualities, study and practice, improve all aspects of qualifications to meet the requirements of assigned tasks, while fulfilling the responsibility of a People's Council delegate, actively participating in the decision-making and supervision functions of the People's Council, especially the policies and mechanisms for mountainous and ethnic people, and performing well the responsibility of a People's Council delegate to contribute to protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people.

Fourth: Regularly and closely contact voters, be subject to voters' supervision, learn about voters' thoughts and aspirations, listen to and respect people's opinions to honestly reflect voters' and people's opinions and recommendations to the People's Council and competent authorities. In the new term, there are many issues that need attention for Quy Chau's development such as continuing to invest in technical infrastructure, electricity, transportation, irrigation, welfare works for people's production and life; recommendations on development policies and mechanisms for ethnic minority mountainous areas, employment issues, workers' income, etc.
