Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan holds the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front
The 6th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has elected Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VII.
On the morning of September 5, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held the 6th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. President Truong Tan Sang attended the Conference.
At the Conference, President Truong Tan Sang, on behalf of the Politburo, reported on the agreement to let Mr. Huynh Dam retire according to the Party and State's policies and introduced Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan to the Front for consultation to elect him as Chairman of the Front, replacing Mr. Huynh Dam.

The report on the change and addition of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VII, presented by Ms. Bui Thi Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, stated: Based on the Front's Charter, based on the opinion of the Politburo on agreeing to let Mr. Huynh Dam retire according to the Party and State's policies and introducing Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister for the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to negotiate and elect to hold the position of Chairman of the Front to replace Mr. Huynh Dam, the Front Presidium unanimously proposed to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front:
Agree to let Chairman Huynh Dam retire according to the policy of the Party and State.
Introduce Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan for the Front to consult and elect to join the Front, the Presidium, the Standing Committee of the Front and to hold the position of Chairman of the Front for the 7th term.
The conference voted with 100% of delegates agreeing to let Mr. Huynh Dam retire according to the Party and State's policy; and to elect Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term VII./.
