Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang holds the position of Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

On the afternoon of April 22, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a ceremony to announce the Politburo's decisions on personnel work. Comrade Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat and Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee attended the ceremony.

Comrade Dinh The Huynh, presented the Politburo's decision to appoint Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Politburo, comrade Pham Minh Chinh announced the Politburo's Decisions on assigning comrade Professor, Doctor Ta Ngoc Tan, former member of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, to cease holding the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and take on the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.

Professor, Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, ceased to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and took on the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

On behalf of the Politburo, comrade Dinh The Huynh presented the Decisions and congratulated the comrades on their new assignments.

Comrade Dinh The Huynh expressed his appreciation for the contributions of comrade Ta Ngoc Tan to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation in general, to the work of training cadres, theoretical research and the career of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in particular.

Congratulations to comrade Ta Ngoc Tan for successfully completing the important tasks assigned by the Party, State and People. Standing member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh believes that comrade will successfully complete the tasks in his new position as full-time Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.

Congratulating comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang on assuming the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Standing member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh believes that with the trust of the Central Executive Committee and the assignment of the Politburo, along with his working experience, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang will continue to promote his capacity, strengths, dynamism and creativity to join the collective leadership, cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.

As a capable and experienced cadre, before being assigned as Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang held the positions of Deputy Director, Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics; Vice President, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; and a member of the Party Central Committee, terms XI and XII.
