After Mr. Obama made his first public appearance and speech on April 24 after leaving the White House, Fox Business Network cited sources close to him saying that Mr. Obama will appear at a health care conference of financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald LP in September.

According to the source, Mr. Obama will receive a fee of up to 400,000 USD to be the keynote speaker at this event. The amount is nearly double the amount that former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received for three speeches at Goldman Sachs in 2015.

Although it is believed that the former US President has signed a contract for the speech in New York, Cantor Fitzgerald LP has not yet made any official announcement, citing the reason that it is still in the process of negotiating with Mr. Obama.

The above information appeared in the context of April 24, when former President Barack Obama spoke for the first time to students at the University of Chicago, Illinois, after he left the White House in January 2017.

Appearing in Chicago, Mr. Obama did not mention President Trump or comment on the policies of the new administration. Instead, former President Obama focused on highlighting the message he wanted to send to young people.

“I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what’s the most important thing I can do in my next job,” Obama said. “I believe that while there are many issues that I care about and want to address, the most important thing for me is to support the next generation of leaders so they are ready to pick up the baton.”

Mr. Obama gave a heartfelt advice to young people: “Don’t worry too much about what you want to become, instead, care more about what you want to do. There may be people who are still successful in pursuing what they want to become, however, when they achieve their goals, they don’t even know what to do.”

After leaving office, former President Barack Obama went on vacation in the Caribbean with British billionaire Richard Branson. He then spent nearly a month on media mogul David Geffen’s yacht in French Polynesia and is said to have written a book during this time./.
