Mr. Putin with an article about the historical unity of Russians and Ukrainians
Russian President Vladimir Putin has written an article about the historical unity of Russians and Ukrainians. The article was published on the Kremlin website.
"The Western authors of the "Anti-Russian" project have established the Ukrainian political system in such a way that the President, parliamentarians, and ministers change, but have an unchanging orientation towards separation from Russia and hostility towards Russia," the article says.

The president also said that in the "anti-Russian" project there is no place for "a sovereign Ukraine, as well as political forces trying to protect the country's real independence."
Handing Ukraine over to outside control is fatal
"Those who today have handed Ukraine over to complete outside control should remember that back then, in 1918, a similar decision turned out to be fatal for the ruling regime in Kiev. With the direct participation of the occupation army, the central parliament was overthrown and leader P. Skoropadsky was brought to power, and instead of a People's Republic, Ukraine was de facto under the German protectorate," the article said.
The Bolsheviks arbitrarily tore the country apart.
In the article "On the historical unity of Russians and Ukrainians" published on the Kremlin website, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the Bolsheviks arbitrarily cut the border and divided the country, Russia was practically robbed.

"In the end, what the Bolshevik leaders were directing, the dismemberment of the country, no longer makes any sense. It is possible to argue about the details, about the context and logic of this or that decision. One thing is clear: Russia was indeed plundered."
Zelensky's promises are lies
"The main slogan before the election of the current Ukrainian President was the achievement of peace. He came to power thanks to this. The promises turned out to be lies," the article commented.
Despite the election promises of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, nothing has changed, and in some ways the situation in the country and around Donbass has deteriorated even further, Vladimir Putin wrote in the article "On the historical unity of Russians and Ukrainians", published on the Kremlin website.
"According to IMF data, in 2019, even before the coronavirus pandemic, the GDP per capita in Ukraine was less than $4 thousand. That is lower than the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Moldova and unrecognized Kosovo. Ukraine is currently the poorest country in Europe," the article reads.
Child of the Soviet era
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed the view that modern Ukraine is entirely a child of the Soviet era.

"Modern Ukraine is entirely and entirely a child of the Soviet era. We know and remember that Ukraine was largely created thanks to historical Russia. It is enough to compare what lands were incorporated into the Russian state in the 17th century and what territories the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic had when it left the Soviet Union," Putin wrote.
