(Baonghean) Over the past 5 years, Con Cuong Women's Union has always been ranked as excellent by the Provincial Women's Union and recognized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.
The President of the Con Cuong Women's Union - Ms. Kha Thi Tim said that from the District Union to 13 branches, all pay special attention to charity activities, helping poor women. Many poor women members do not forget the feelings and sharing of the branches and of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh in Tan Dan, Bong Khe commune; Lo Thi Thiep, Met village, Luc Da commune; Tran Thi Thi, Khe Choang village, Chau Khe commune, who encouraged members to help their families improve their lives and develop the economy.
In the movement to raise funds to eliminate dilapidated and makeshift houses, the women's associations at all levels in the district have supported 4 poor member households belonging to policy families to build and repair houses with a support amount of more than 50 million VND. In addition, the associations at all levels mobilized members to help member families with difficulties in human resources with more than 45,000 working days of production, plowing, planting, and harvesting. With the campaign "Charity rice jars and savings tubes" launched by the Central Association, the associations at all levels have mobilized nearly 9,000 women of all walks of life to participate in donating more than 433 million VND in cash, contributing more than 19 tons of rice for each meal (savings rice jars), 1,300 pieces of clothing, helping more than 1,030 families with illnesses, sudden difficulties, single elderly households, poor households, and children in difficult circumstances in the locality.
Typical are the Women's Unions of Chau Khe, Town, Luc Da, Mon Son, Bong Khe, Don Phuc, Lang Khe communes; and individuals such as Ms. Tran Thi Thi (Khe Choang - Chau Khe commune), Ms. Lo Thi Thiep (Met village - Luc Da commune), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (Tan Dan - Bong Khe)... In addition, the District Women's Union directed the effective maintenance of 500 women's savings groups with nearly 5,500 members, raising 2.2 billion VND to help each other borrow money to invest in livestock and production, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the locality.
For the District Association's specialized agency, each member saves from 100,000 VND - 200,000 VND every month and contributes 8 million VND. The agency's members also save from 10,000 - 20,000 VND in piggy banks each month to visit and give gifts to women and children in especially difficult circumstances at the end of the year.
Although the results of the following Uncle Ho's actions of the Women's Union in Con Cuong are not many, they have brought out practical lessons. That is, thoroughly and seriously grasp the Party's directives, resolutions and topics on the movement among women's union members, choose appropriate contents, and choose guiding points in the implementation process. Following Uncle Ho's actions needs to closely link the implementation of the movement with the implementation of the emulation movement and the political tasks of the union, and link the review of "following" in the activities of the Party cell, the meetings of the executive committee of the union and the implementation of "following" activities in the activities of the union members.
Women's Unions at all levels build and replicate advanced models, promptly commend and reward, and promote good models on mass media to create widespread dissemination among the masses. Grassroots union cadres uphold their responsibility to strengthen regular inspection, supervision, and urging.
In addition, each leading union official and each female party member must truly be exemplary, self-aware, voluntary, and self-disciplined in studying and working to set an example for union members and the people to follow. The lessons of following Uncle Ho at the Con Cuong District Women's Union are not new, but if maintained regularly according to Directive 03 of the Politburo, the effectiveness of following Uncle Ho's moral example will be practical and sustainable.
