Mr. Tran Binh Minh holds the position of General Director of VTV.

From May 1, 2011, journalist Tran Binh Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television will officially hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television.

The appointment of Journalist Tran Binh Minh as General Director of Vietnam Television was signed by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and officially announced yesterday afternoon, April 19, 2011. This appointment decision takes effect from May 1, 2011.

Journalist Tran Binh Minh, born in 1958, is from Hai Duong. In 1989, he became known to many people through the VKT television program. After that, he successively held the position of Head of the News Department, then Deputy General Director of VTV. In 2008, journalist Tran Binh Minh was transferred to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. In June 2010, he continued to hold the position of Deputy General Director of VTV.

In September 2010, journalist Tran Binh Minh was elected Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam Television for the 2010-2015 term.

Journalist Tran Binh Minh is the son of the late journalist Tran Lam, former Minister, Chairman of the Radio and Television Commission, one of the founders and the first leader of Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam Television, continuously in charge of Voice of Vietnam for 43 years (1945-1988).

During his years working at the station, journalist Tran Binh Minh has been very dedicated, devoted to his professional work and made significant contributions to the development of VTV.
