Mr. Zelensky's administration added that the President considers the draft law "On assisting Ukraine in protecting its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity," proposed in the US House of Representatives, an important signal of the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.
As the press service notes, the bill is aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities: it refers to the transfer of weapons, including anti-tank, anti-ship and anti-aircraft systems, the sale of lethal defense equipment, as well as strengthening the ability to counter cyber attacks. In addition, the document also grants Ukraine the status of the United States' main military-political ally.
“Thank you to the United States for its consistent support for Ukraine's territorial integrity,” the press service quoted Mr. Zelensky as saying.
It is not yet clear when Mr Zelensky's visit to the United States will take place.
