Trump announces meeting of representatives of Russia, the US and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia
President Donald Trump said US, Russian and Ukrainian officials will meet in Saudi Arabia next week.

According to RIA Novosti on February 14, US President Donald Trump said the US, Russia and Ukraine will hold a summit meeting in Saudi Arabia next week.
“There will be a meeting in Munich on February 14, and next week there will be a meeting in Saudi Arabia, not with me or President Putin, but with senior officials. And Ukraine will also be participating in this meeting,” President Trump said.
President Trump said on February 13 that he expected to meet his Russian counterpart in Saudi Arabia, but did not specify a date.
"Let's see if we can end this war. This is a terrible war. It's a brutal, bloody war. We want to end it," the US leader stressed.
Earlier on February 13, Mr. Trump announced that senior representatives from Russia, the United States and Ukraine will meet at the Munich Security Conference, taking place from February 14 to 16.
In June 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward an initiative to resolve the conflict peacefully. Russia would immediately cease fire and declare its readiness for negotiations if: Ukraine formally abandoned plans to join NATO; Ukrainian armed forces would leave the newly annexed regions of Russia; the Kiev government would demilitarize; Ukraine would adopt neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status.
The Russian leader also mentioned the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions; at the same time, Moscow has repeatedly noted that Kiev has banned itself from participating in negotiations since October 2022 and President Volodymyr Zelensky has a major problem with legitimacy.
