Russian news agency TASS reported on September 11 that US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he wanted the conflict in Ukraine to end.
"I want the war to end," he said in the interview.televised debate with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harriswhen answering the host's question about whether he wants the Kiev government to win the conflict.
Mr. Trump also pointed out that the current US administration is “not even trying” to prevent the conflict in Ukraine, despite the fact that the crisis is in dire need of resolution.
He added that he had a plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine before taking office if he won.
"I want to solve the war (the Ukraine conflict). I will solve it even before I become president," Mr. Trump said in a televised debate with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
The former US President also said that the conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip would not have happened if he were still in office.

Ending the conflict in Ukraine serves US interests
Also according to TASS, Mr. Donald Trump did not answer the question of whether Washington would benefit from the Kiev government's victory in the conflict in Ukraine. Instead, he said that ending the fighting and reaching a peace agreement was in the interests of the United States.
"I think it's in America's best interest to end this war (the conflict in Ukraine) and just get it done - negotiate a deal because we have to prevent all these human lives from being destroyed," he said in response to a related question from the moderator of the televised debate with Kamala Harris.
He also criticized incumbent President Joe Biden for his lack of communication with Russia on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
“Biden doesn’t know how to talk (to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin). He doesn’t know how to stop it (the Ukraine conflict), and now there are millions of people dying, and it’s only getting worse,” Trump said, pointing out that he is said to have good relationships with both Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, which would facilitate his efforts to resolve the conflict once he is elected president.
