After the debate with Mr. Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign team expressed satisfaction with the developments.
Kamala Harris' campaign advisers told CNN during and after the debate that they felt the vice president showed strong control of the issues; delivered the messages she hoped to convey on important issues like tax policy for the economy and foreign policy; and notably succeeded in making Trump angry — more than once.
If there was one thing that consistently surprised Ms. Harris’s campaign throughout the debate, it was how often Mr. Trump “fell into traps” with Vice President Harris, including on issues considered Mr. Trump’s “forte,” a senior adviser said.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said earlier he was concerned the country was "blind" to Donald Trump's record as president.
But after the debate, Mr. Shapiro said, “I think Kamala Harris cleared that brain fog” by reminding the American people of the former president’s record.
"Ms. Harris reminds everyone how unreasonable and divisive Mr. Trump is" – Governor Pennsylvania said.
