During his 26 years as village chief, Mr. Nguyen Van Thai is fully aware of his responsibility in propagating and mobilizing people to implement the policies and laws of the Party and the State. He has made great contributions to the locality in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development.

Village 9 has 127 households with 450 people, people's lives still face many difficulties, so in the process of implementing the New Rural Construction Program, the biggest barrier is that people's awareness of the New Rural Construction Program is still unclear. Some households think that building a New Rural Construction Program is the work of the State, so they wait, rely on it, and do not actively participate and contribute. After many times of propaganda and mobilization, people have gradually understood and understood that building a New Rural Construction Program is the responsibility of the people and has the support of the State.

In 2014, Mr. Thai mobilized the people of village 9, Hoa Son commune to agree to donate 300m2 of land, promptly clearing the land to open a 1.6km road through the village. Having the land, but to have a clean and beautiful concrete road is not an easy task. Once again, Mr. Thai "went to every alley, knocked on every door" to mobilize people to contribute money and labor. After just over 1 month, with cement supported by the State, sand and gravel and labor contributed by the locality, the whole village built a 670m long road.

The cultural house meets the standards with an area of ​​120 square meters, worth 200 million VND from contributions from villagers.

At the same time, Mr. Thai also boldly proposed ideas and persuaded the villagers to contribute 50 million VND to build the village gate; 10 million VND to build a lighting system on the village roads; and build a village cultural house with an area of ​​120m2 worth 200 million VND. In addition, he also mobilized the villagers to build traffic and canals in the fields worth nearly 100 million VND.

In addition to fulfilling his role as a village chief, he is also an example of good labor and production. Mr. Thai said: In the past, his family was also one of the poor households in the village. To escape poverty, he boldly borrowed capital from the bank to develop production. Currently, he has 1 hectare of forest for growing paper raw materials, 3 sao of fish pond, and also raises chickens, pigs, and cows. Thanks to actively learning and applying scientific and technical advances, each year Mr. Thai has an income of 70 to 80 million VND.
