Earlier, the Ukrainian military reported that as a result of shelling on Friday evening, two law enforcement officers were killed and eight others were injured.
"The shelling of Ukrainian troops shows that there is once again an attempt to disrupt the ceasefire negotiations. It does not matter who gave the order, the Ukrainian armed forces will respond firmly and in accordance with the situation.
At the diplomatic level, our position on the need for a ceasefire and the release of prisoners of war remains unchanged," the press service quoted the head of state as saying.
Mr. Zelensky noted that such attacks are a blatant violation of the Minsk agreements. The president also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and expressed gratitude for the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian soldiers who were attacked.
