Honda cars reduced by nearly 200 million in Vietnam
The Japanese car company is implementing a stimulus program for Civic, Accord and CR-V models with discounts of 52-192 million.
The new prices that Honda Vietnam applies to its car models will start from August 8.
Car model | Old price | New price | Discount level |
Civic | 950 | 898 | 52 |
Accord | 1,390 | 1,198 | 192 |
CR-V 2.0 | 1,008 | 898 | 110 |
CR-V 2.4 | 1,158 | 988 | 170 |
CR-V 2.4 Top | 1,178 | 1,028 | 150 |
The Japanese car company is stimulating demand by reducing prices for its top models, with prices ranging from around one billion to over one billion. The Civic has a reduction of about 52 million to 898 million, still much higher than competitors in the segment who are racing to reduce prices to around 800 million.
Accord is the car with the highest price reduction, from nearly 1.4 billion to nearly 1.2 billion, a reduction of up to 200 million. Accord is imported from Thailand, highly appreciated by car experts for its design, equipment and driving feeling, but sales are low partly because the price is much higher than Camry, Sonata or Mazda6. With the new reduction, the price of Accord is equal to Camry 2.5G, 185 million lower than 2.5Q.
The CR-V is the last model to be discounted in Honda's new stimulus period, with a discount of 110-170 million VND. Besides the current CR-V, customers are looking forward to the new CR-V coming to Vietnam, especially the 7-seat version.

Accord has the deepest discount this time, up to 192 million. |
This is Honda's first major discount of the year, but in fact, for many months now, dealers have been offering similar discounts to customers.
Honda representative said these are the best incentives that the company has applied to customers in 2017 to combat the trend of postponing car purchases, waiting until 2018. In fact, it is impossible to predict exactly what the 2018 car prices will be.
Previously, Truong Hai introduced a new pricing policy that caused Kia and Mazda cars to increase slightly by about 10-15 million. This company fixed the price, and dealers would not be able to reduce the price any further. This is another move that goes against the market, when other companies are competing to reduce prices. Truong Hai said this is a way to achieve profit targets.
Honda at the Vietnam Motor Show 2017 taking place from August 2-5 in Ho Chi Minh City introduced the imported Jazz and sold it from early 2018, targeting the B-size hatchback segment. This company plans to sell imported cars, only assembling the City in the coming years.
