Pakistan asks Britain to withdraw military advisers
Pakistan has asked a group of British military advisers sent to train Pakistani troops to fight the Taliban and Al-Qaeda to return home.
The withdrawal of these advisers is an indirect effect of the worsening relationship between the US and Pakistan after US commandos killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad without Pakistan's prior notice.
The Pakistani military still wants to demonstrate independence from dependence.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed that at least 18 military advisers have withdrawn from Pakistan and most have returned to the UK.
The newspaper quoted a spokesman, in an emailed statement, as saying that British military advisers were being withdrawn “on a temporary basis” at the request of the Pakistani government because of “security concerns”.
Although relations between Britain and Pakistan have warmed, the Pakistani military, after facing much criticism, still wants to demonstrate its independence from Western allies.
