Pano 2/9 printed wrong country name: District Secretary takes responsibility
A banner celebrating National Day with the wrong country name has been removed by Dong Da district (Hanoi) and replaced with a new banner.
This afternoon, answering reporters, Dong Da District Secretary Le Tien Nhat admitted the district's mistake and said that the city directed the making of the September 2nd billboard, while the design and printing were done by the district. "Due to negligence in management, deployment and implementation, the district printed the wrong country name on the billboard. The district does not blame anyone because it sympathizes with the staff who sometimes make mistakes due to fatigue," said Mr. Nhat.
The Secretary of Dong Da District also shared that only the billboard placed on Nguyen Luong Bang - Ton Duc Thang Street had the wrong country name. Such large billboards are not mass-produced but are designed specifically to suit the location of each location. The billboards were hung at night and the next afternoon, district officials replaced them.
Dong Da District has also reviewed its responsibilities for this issue. However, according to Mr. Nhat, the important thing is to recognize the mistake, handle it and learn a lesson to avoid making the same mistake again.
On the morning of August 30, the error on the billboard at O Cho Dua intersection was corrected.
