Petrolimex will compensate for vehicles that stall due to A95 gasoline
Petrolimex commits to compensate for maintenance costs of vehicles that stalled and purchased RON 95 gasoline at the Company's gas stations on January 21 and 22.
Vietnam National Petroleum Group - Petrolimex has just issued a statement on the cause and solutions to the problem of many motorbikes and cars stalling after filling up with RON 95 gasoline at some Petrolimex Saigon gas stations recently and committed to compensate the owners of vehicles that filled this faulty gasoline.
According to Petrolimex, after checking and determining the cause during long-term storage, gasoline containing gelling components had been locally separated at the bottom of the tank. Therefore, some tank trucks received gasoline mixed with gelling components (resin) higher than prescribed due to the pump sucking goods from the bottom of the tank. The actual resin content (gelling from some components of gasoline) is the main factor that dirty the fuel filter, causing the vehicle to stall.

Immediately after receiving information reflecting that the vehicles of some customers using RON 95 gasoline purchased at some stores in Ho Chi Minh City had stalled on the afternoon of January 21 and 22, 2016, Petrolimex immediately stopped selling RON 95 gasoline at all stores that imported the same shipment on January 21 and 22, 2016 with stalled vehicles. At the same time, all RON 95 gasoline at the above stores was withdrawn and returned to the tanks that had been exported to Nha Be Petroleum Depot. Then, staff were sent to meet with customers to find out information about the stalled vehicle incident.
Petrolimex affirmed that it will provide enough RON 95 gasoline with guaranteed quality according to Vietnamese standards from other tanks to gas stations and customers with recalled RON 95 gasoline. Specifically, from January 23rd until now, the Company's gas stations have been selling RON 95 gasoline normally, fully meeting consumer demand and ensuring complete quality.
