On the morning of January 23, Yen Thanh District Police announced that they had broken up a case and arrested a group of professional motorbike thieves from across districts, with assets worth over 200 million VND.
Recently, in Yen Thanh district, motorbike thefts have frequently occurred with sophisticated methods. In response to the above situation, under the direction of the district police, on December 28, 2018, the Drug Economic Crime Police Team established a special project coded 119T to combat this situation.

Through professional measures together with documents and traces collected at the scene, the Task Force has clearly grasped the situation, movements and activities of the group of subjects. The Task Force has specified the activities of the above group of subjects, during the day they often gather at restaurants and Internet cafes to create a cover as well as avoid the attention of the authorities; at the same time, they research, observe, and find loopholes of the people to commit theft.
After a short time, the task force identified and arrested the perpetrators of motorbike thefts in Yen Thanh district by a group of professional subjects, the leader of which was Nguyen Ba Dinh (born in 1987) Lien Giang hamlet, Lien Thanh commune. The same group included Nguyen Van Sang (born in 1994) hamlet 7, Bao Thanh commune; Tran Khac Huan (born in 2001) hamlet 3, Thinh Thanh commune.
After being caught off guard, Nguyen Ba Dinh was found hiding in Da Lat. Yen Thanh District Police sent a task force to arrest him and extradite him to Yen Thanh.
At the police station, Dinh, Sang, and Huan confessed that they had been carrying out the above acts since the beginning of 2018. To avoid detection, the subjects often rode together on a motorbike, wandering on the streets to find a family that was not paying attention and then committed the theft.
Currently, Yen Thanh District Police have clarified 15 cases and seized 9 motorbikes that the group stole in Yen Thanh, Nghi Loc, and Dien Chau districts.
On January 20, 2019, Yen Thanh District Police issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain the above subjects and continue to verify, investigate and clarify to handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
