Breaking up the largest crystal meth trafficking ring in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) -The Nghe An Police Department's Drug Crime Prevention Force has just arrested suspects in a crystal meth trafficking ring, seizing 6.4 kg of drugs. This is the largest crystal meth trafficking ring ever in the area.
At 12:30 on October 14, 2012, at the Fish Lake area of Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City, the Drug Crime Prevention Police of Nghe An Province successfully broke up Project 166T, catching Truong Hoang Hiep (born in 1984, residing at No. 18, Doan Thi Diem Street, Quoc Tu Giam Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi) red-handed while transporting drugs. The seized evidence included 6.4 kg of crystal meth, 86 million VND, 2 mobile phones and 1 motorbike.
Authorities surrounded and arrested the subject.
Expanding the investigation, the police force continued to arrest Nguyen Van Mai (born in 1989, residing in hamlet 2, Nam Trung commune, Nam Dan district).
According to initial investigation, Mai and Hiep were hired to carry goods for other people. They planned to transport these goods to Ho Chi Minh City. This is the largest methamphetamine trafficking ring ever in Nghe An.
