The police have dismantled a gambling ring on the VN168 Game portal, with transactions since the beginning of 2023 amounting to more than 200 billion VND.
On December 27, the leader of Nam Dinh Provincial Police informed that the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, Nam Dinh Provincial Police had justdestroy gambling organization lineand large-scale gambling on cyberspace, through the VN168 Game portal.
According to the police, from the beginning of 2023 until now, the amount of gambling transactions of this line has reached more than 200 billion VND.
By professional measures, after discovering a large-scale inter-provincial gambling and gambling organization line with large transaction amounts, sophisticated operations, taking advantage of high technology to connect and gamble on the VN168 Game portal, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention of Nam Dinh Provincial Police mobilized all forces, deployed 8 working groups to simultaneously carry out arrest warrants and urgent searches of related subjects in the line.

The group of subjects includes: Hoang Phu Quoc, Trinh Dinh Tu, Van Dinh Hoang, Le Tuan Anh, Duong Danh Chien, Nguyen Thi Linh, Dinh Khac Huan and Nguyen Thanh Loc, with permanent residence in many different provinces and cities across the country.
During the investigation, the police seized 13 mobile phones, 5 computers and computer towers, 1 car and many other evidences serving the organization of gambling and gambling activities to serve the investigation. The suspects confessed that from February 2023 to present, they have promoted and called for more than 3,500 accounts to participate in gambling through the online game portal VN168.
The amount of gambling transactions per day is about 500 million - 600 million VND. It is estimated that from the beginning of 2023 until now, the amount of online gambling transactions on the VN168 Game portal has reached more than 200 billion VND.
The Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention has handed over the case to the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Dinh Provincial Police for investigation according to its authority.
