Breaking up a 'huge' drug ring, seizing 69 heroin cakes
(Baonghean.vn) - Four Thai and Laotian subjects were transporting 69 heroin cakes to Vietnam for sale when they were arrested by the Border Guard in coordination with Lao police.
Implementing project 056AV, at 7:30 p.m. on November 21, 2016 in Ban Ly, Pec district, Xieng Khouang, Laos, the Department of Drug Crime Prevention of the Border Guard Command (PCMT - TP BTLBP), Nghe An Provincial Border Guard in coordination with Xieng Khouang Provincial Police (Laos) caught red-handed 4 subjects trafficking and transporting drugs.
The four suspects are Chiramet, born in 1984; Chaikitkun, born in 1982; Saesong Tho, born in 1973, all Thai nationals, and Nuxong, born in 1994, residing in Na U village, Xom Phan district, Phong Xa Ly province, Laos.
Evidence seized at the scene included 69 heroin cakes, 02 pickup trucks and many other related documents.
According to the initial statements of the subjects, taking advantage of the trade through the border gates between Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, the subjects of Thai nationality colluded with Lao and Vietnamese subjects, then went to the Golden Triangle to buy heroin, transported it through Laos, and then tried to cross the border into Vietnam for consumption. They were arrested while on the way to transport it back to Vietnam.

When discovered by the authorities, the subjects fought back fiercely in an attempt to escape, but with the detectives' experience in solving crimes, after more than 30 minutes, the authorities were able to control the subjects, collect all the evidence, and ensure absolute safety for the investigation force.
This is the project to seize the largest amount of drugs ever successfully destroyed by Nghe An Border Guard in coordination with other functional forces.
Currently, Nghe An Border Guard has handed over the evidence and suspects to Xieng Khouang Provincial Police (Laos) for further investigation./.
