At the age of U40, Pham Phuong Thao has experienced a broken marriage and two unfinished love affairs. She no longer dreams of a handsome, talented man like when she was 20 years old, nor does she have the need to depend on anyone. Many of her friends such as Meritorious Artist Thanh Lam, singer Ngoc Anh, Tan Nhan all say that Pham Phuong Thao is "multi-faceted", has many relationships, and many heartbreaks. All of these things create a Pham Phuong Thao who is sentimental in music and life.
Entering the profession in 2003, Pham Phuong Thao gained attention when she won third prize and became the "Most Favorite Face" of the Sao Mai 2003 contest. However, when she started to reap success, she suddenly got married. Her husband worked in Laos, so the singer put aside many music projects to take care of her family. In 2009, she and her husband divorced after 5 years of living together. She broke up peacefully, without a third person, but when her husband remarried, Pham Phuong Thao could not hide that she was "heartbroken".
"Since I was little, I had many unusual thoughts. I often told my mother that I didn't want to get married. Later, when I got married, I told my parents: 'I'm only getting married this once. If I'm not happy, I will never get married again,'" Pham Phuong Thao said.
Many friends advised her not to marry anyone anymore, and to have children if she loves someone. However, she did not prepare anything but waited for everything to come naturally. "Before, I used to think I would have many children. However, there were things that I tried hard but could not achieve. I went through many life and death situations to have children but failed. Currently, I no longer crave having a child. I consider my grandchildren as my children and take care of them with all my heart," the singer confided.

After breaking up with her husband, the singer got involved with someone else, but no one stayed with her for more than 5 years. Her straightforward, "straightforward" personality and her big ego made many people afraid. "I don't need to find a man who is always by my side or just to take me to shows. Even though I'm easily swayed by talented men, what I want most is for that person to only have me in his heart. That's my selfishness in love. Maybe that's why no one has stayed with me for more than 5 years," she said tearfully. The singer admitted that she fell in love later than her peers, so she didn't have much experience and was sometimes clumsy. She explained that her ups and downs in love came from "debts from a previous life". However, with each person who comes and goes from her life, she cherishes the joys and sorrows they bring.
When recalling the past, Pham Phuong Thao has no regrets or remorse. She only feels sad when thinking about her parents: "When I was young, my mother did not want me to become a singer, she advised: 'Singers all leave their husbands, my child'. I do not hesitate about anything, I just always think that if I have a more peaceful family life, my parents will be at ease. If the children suffer once, the parents will suffer ten times. To me, not being happy is also a form of unfilial piety."

The book of poems tells the story of a country girl named Phuong Thao, who since she was eight years old dared to tell her mother about her dream of having four children without a husband: "I am a girl from the Central region/ I don't want to get married but I like children/ When I was eight years old, I was already thinking about having children later". The middle-aged woman accepts the ups and downs in love: "This body still has to be locked/ Waiting for a gentleman to break the lock of heaven/ Then I ask for a life of death/ Then I ask to be lost in love again".
With music, she composed many songs such asHe returns home in glory, I am fragile, I dream of love, Nghe An girl,expressing a romantic, fragile soul. The lyrical self in Pham Phuong Thao's poetry and music is romantic, dreamy but sometimes stubborn and profound. The meaning is sometimes full of love, sometimes lonely and sad. In the first days of the year of the Pig, Pham Phuong Thao went to the temple to pray for a lucky new year. "Many people like peace, but for me, peace to the point of being flat would be very boring.
