Assignment of duties to members of the National Election Council

National Assembly Chairwoman and Chairwoman of the National Election Council Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has just signed a resolution assigning members of the National Election Council.

Accordingly, the responsibilities of the 21 members of the National Election Council are assigned as follows:

1. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan -The Chairman of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the National Election Council are responsible to the National Assembly for leading and directing election work nationwide; leading the activities of the National Election Council; and convening and presiding over meetings of the National Election Council.

Directing election work in Can Tho, Hau Giang, and An Giang provinces.

2. Ms. Tong Thi PhongThe Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Election Council, assists the Chairman in managing the regular work of the National Election Council and related matters concerning personnel and the operation of the Office of the National Election Council.

Directing election work in Quang Ninh and Lang Son provinces.

3. Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh- The Vice President, who is also the Vice Chairman of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing and guiding emulation and reward activities during the election process.

Directing election work in the provinces of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, and Thai Binh.

4. Mr. Truong Hoa Binh -The Deputy Prime Minister, also the Vice Chairman of the National Election Council, is responsible for assisting the Chairman of the National Election Council in coordinating work with the Government, directing personnel matters within the Government, government agencies, and the People's Councils of provinces and centrally-administered cities, and guiding the election of People's Council representatives at all levels.

Directing election work in Dien Bien province and Hanoi city.

5. Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan -The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Vice Chairman of the National Election Council, is responsible for personnel matters within the Fatherland Front bloc, including consultation and nomination of candidates for National Assembly representatives; guiding consultation and nomination of candidates for People's Council representatives; and conducting voter outreach and election campaigning.

Directing election work in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

6. Mr. Phung Quoc HienThe Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing the personnel work for National Assembly deputies; and is in charge of the Personnel Subcommittee and handling complaints and denunciations.

Directing election work in the provinces of Lai Chau, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai.

7. Mr. Do Ba Ty -The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing and coordinating with the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in the inspection and supervision of elections; and is directly in charge of the Subcommittee on Security, Order, and Social Safety.

Directing election work in Da Nang City and the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh.

8. Mr. Uong Chu Luu -The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for guiding the implementation of election laws and regulations; and is in charge of the Subcommittee on Legal Documents and Information and Propaganda.

Directing personnel work in the judicial sector and election work in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces.

9. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh -The Head of the Central Party Organization Department and member of the National Election Council is responsible for directing the work related to National Assembly and People's Council representatives under the central government's management.

Directing election work in Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho provinces.

10. Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong -The Chairman of the Central Party Inspection Commission and member of the National Election Council is responsible for directing the work of guiding, investigating, verifying, and concluding on complaints and denunciations against candidates for National Assembly representatives, the qualifications of elected National Assembly representatives, and representatives of People's Councils at all levels.

Directing election work in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces.

11. Mr. Ngo Xuan Lich -The Minister of National Defence, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing national defence security work; directing officers, soldiers, defence workers, reserve forces, and militia to participate in election activities.

Directing election work in the military and in the provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan, and Thai Nguyen.

12. Mr. To Lam -The Minister of Public Security, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing the work of ensuring security, order, and social safety during the election process.

Directing police officers and soldiers to participate in election activities.

Directing election work within the police force and in the provinces of Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Lam Dong.

13. Mr. Tran Van Tuy -Members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Heads of the Committee on Representative Affairs, and Members of the National Election Council are responsible for coordinating with the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in allocating the number of elected National Assembly deputies; determining the structure and composition of those nominated to run for National Assembly deputies; and receiving and reviewing applications for National Assembly deputy candidacy.

Directing election work in Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces and Hai Phong city.

14. Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc- Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office, Member of the National Election Council, Chief of the Office of the National Election Council serving the activities of the National Election Council and its subcommittees in the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies; responsible for directing and coordinating with relevant agencies to assist the National Election Council in allocating election funds; ensuring the necessary facilities to support the activities of the National Election Council.

Directing election work in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.

15. Mr. Le Vinh Tan -The Minister of Home Affairs, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing and coordinating with relevant agencies and organizations to assist the Government in guiding and directing the election of representatives to People's Councils at all levels.

Directing election work in Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau provinces.

16. Mr. Truong Minh Tuan -The Minister of Information and Communications, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing information, propaganda, and election campaigning activities.

Directing election work in Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces.

17. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha -The Chairperson of the Vietnam Women's Union, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Women's Unions of provinces and centrally-administered cities in nominating female candidates for National Assembly and People's Council representatives in accordance with the Law on Election of National Assembly and People's Council Representatives; and directing the work of mobilizing women nationwide to participate in election activities.

Directing election work in Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, and Ben Tre provinces.

18. Mr. Bui Van Cuong -The Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing trade union organizations nationwide in mobilizing cadres, civil servants, employees, and trade union members to participate in election activities.

Directing election work in the provinces of Long An, Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, and Binh Phuoc.

19. Mr. Lai Xuan Mon -The Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, and member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing Farmers' Association organizations nationwide in mobilizing farmers to participate in election activities.

Directing election work in the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Phu Yen.

20. Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc -The Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing the Vietnam Veterans Association and Veterans Association organizations nationwide in mobilizing Veterans Association members to participate in election activities.

Directing election work in Tien Giang, Dong Thap, and Vinh Long provinces.

21. Mr. Le Quoc Phong -The Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, a member of the National Election Council, is responsible for directing the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation organizations nationwide in mobilizing members to participate in election activities.

Directing election work in the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue.
