(Baonghean.vn) - On January 20, the Defense - Security Education Council of Military Region 4 chaired by Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region, Chairman of the Council held a conference to evaluate the results of the implementation of tasks in 2014 and deploy the direction for 2015. Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee attended and spoke at the conference.

In 2014, the work of national defense and security education in the Military Region was implemented synchronously, uniformly, systematically, and achieved relatively comprehensive results. The work of fostering national defense and security knowledge for subjects was focused on by all levels and organized according to the program and plan with good quality. The entire Military Region opened 889 classes of national defense and security knowledge for 86,134 people, achieving 103 annual plans. National defense and security education for students has become a regular subject in schools.
During the year, the entire Military Region built 215 columns, reports, over 6,000 news, articles, and specialized pages on mass media systems. The Nghe An Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Youth Union, and the Military Region Military School to organize 2 "Army Semester" courses, with 200 students participating. These results contributed to creating a strong change in awareness and responsibility for cadres, party members, and people to successfully carry out the tasks of economic and social development and strengthening national defense and security in the new situation.

In 2015, all levels in the Military Region focused on thoroughly disseminating the Law on National Defense and Security Education and its documents for wide implementation in all levels, sectors and the entire population. Strive to foster national defense and security knowledge for over 20% of the total number of subjects. Direct localities to coordinate with universities to train national defense and security education according to Decision 607/QD-TTg, dated April 24, 2014 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project "Training teachers and lecturers of national defense and security education for high school principals, vocational secondary schools, colleges and universities by 2020". Continue to innovate the teaching methods of national defense and security in a positive direction, improve the quality of disseminating national defense and security knowledge to all people, innovate diverse and rich propaganda activities and methods to help all levels, sectors, the entire political system and all people grasp and well implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
