(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 21, Anh Son District Party Committee officially held the 20th Congress of Delegates, term 2015 - 2020.

Attending and directing the congress were Standing Committee members: Le Ba Hung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Huu Lam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Le Minh Thong, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Tran Cong Duong, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee's Office; Ho Ngoc Sy, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong and Hoang Viet Duong; Leaders of departments, branches, district and city Party committees, and 235 official delegates from 62 grassroots party organizations in the entire Party Committee.

In the period of 2010 - 2015, despite many difficulties, the socio-economic situation of Anh Son district remained stable and had quite good development. The economic growth rate reached 6.77%, the average added value per capita in 2015 was estimated at 22,245 million VND (an increase of 11,372 million VND compared to the beginning of the term), investment capital mobilization increased by an average of 9% (in 2015, it was estimated at 763,097 million VND). The implementation of the national target program on new rural construction initially achieved important results, making the rural appearance much better. Up to now, 3/20 communes have met 19/19 criteria, 2 communes have met 15 - 18 criteria, 15 communes have met 10 - 14 criteria.

Labor, employment, and social policy implementation have achieved important results. New jobs are created for 1,800-2,200 workers each year. In the past 5 years, jobs have been created for 10,525 workers, reducing the poverty rate from 21.54% in 2011 to 8.96% in 2015 (2.51% decrease each year). Science and technology activities have been effectively implemented, and more attention has been paid to resource and environmental management. In industry, production technology lines have been innovated at Song Lam Sugar Factory, Hung Son Tea Factory, Brick Factory (Cam Son), etc.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Sang - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee presented a political report to the entire Congress.

Local defense and military work is maintained, ensuring the national defense posture associated with the people's security posture. Strengthening foreign relations with Xay Cham Pon district (Laos) contributes to ensuring border security.

Regarding Party building, there have been many innovations and important results, enhancing the role and position of the Party organization in the political system. The district Party Committee has been strong for 4 years, the government has achieved excellent status. The people of Anh Son district have received the First Class Labor Medal. During the term, 891 comrades were admitted, including 36 ethnic minorities and 1 religious person. Up to now, 100% of villages and hamlets have Party cells.

The Congress focused on discussing and unifying the goals and solutions to implement the general goals of the Party Committee in the 2015-2020 term, focusing on building a strong political system, developing the economy and society, maintaining national defense and security, and improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Continuing to build infrastructure, prioritizing key economic projects and disadvantaged areas. The Party Committee is united, the people are in agreement, bringing Anh Son to comprehensive development to become a well-off district of the province.

The Congress also conducted personnel work, approved the list of elected personnel and voted to elect the District Party Executive Committee for the 20th term, 2015-2020.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Le Minh Thong - Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Anh Son District Party Committee in the past term. At the same time, he emphasized that in the coming time, Anh Son needs to closely follow the programs and projects to implement Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated July 30, 2013 of the Politburo on the development of Nghe An province to 2020; Decision No. 2355/QD-TTg dated December 4, 2013 of the Prime Minister on socio-economic development of Western Nghe An to 2020. Implement well the work of general planning, detailed planning in the fields of economy, transportation, towns, townships, land use. Strengthen investment attraction, vocational training, job creation, labor export, service development, tourism, trade.
