The National Border Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam have repeatedly affirmed that “Vietnam has sufficient legal and historical evidence to affirm its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.”

Previously, after China decided to establish Sansha city, on June 23, leaders of Khanh Hoa province and Da Nang city spoke out against this wrong and illegal decision, which harmed the relationship between the two countries and the friendship between the two peoples.

Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Truong Sa island district is an inseparable part of Vietnam's territory and is under the administrative management of Khanh Hoa province.

Mr. Van Huu Chien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang city, also affirmed that Hoang Sa island district is an inseparable part of Vietnam's territory and is under the administrative management of Da Nang city.

China's holding of People's Council elections in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos of Vietnam took place just one day after the spokesman of the country's Foreign Ministry, Mr. Hong Lei, stated that China is ready to work with ASEAN countries to implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.East Sea(DOC) in a comprehensive and effective manner, as well as consultations to finalize the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC).
