Phan Nhu Thuat becomes 'deputy general' for coach Quang Truong at SLNA
(Baonghean.vn) – After winning consecutive titles with SLNA youth teams as well as completing his A – AFC degree, Phan Nhu Thuat was appointed by the Nghe An team as assistant coach in the first team.
Midfielder Phan Nhu Thuat (1984) along with the players from Nghe An, Van Quyen, Lam Tan, Minh Duc, Anh Duc, had an impressive momentum when they played brilliantly with the U16 Vietnam team at the 2000 U16 Asian Cup.
Considered a rare talent in Vietnamese football, but his technical playing style does not make up for his small stature. Nhu Thuat's mark during his peak playing time was not worthy of the innate qualities of this former midfielder.

At the end of V.League 2016, Nhu Thuat retired from SLNA and switched to coaching. Initially, he was an assistant to senior Huy Hoang at SLNA Children's team and then led U11 SLNA to the championship in 2017. 2019 marked Nhu Thuat's strong mark in coaching and youth training.
For the first time standing on the coaching bench of the SLNA U15 team participating in the national U15 tournament in June 2019, Nhu Thuat and his former teammate Van Quyen helped the home team successfully defend the championship after winning against U15 Thanh Hoa in the final match.
Just 1 month later, Nhu Thuat helped U13 SLNA win the National Youth Championship held in Vinh City as assistant coach. The Nghe An team's leadership continued to appoint Nhu Thuat as assistant coach to coach Phan Tien Hoai of the U11 SLNA team to participate in the 2019 National Children's Football Championship Finals and also successfully defended the championship.

Right after helping 3 SLNA youth teams win the championship in just 3 months, Phan Nhu Thuat completed the A certificate course - opened by the Asian Football Confederation in Hanoi with former teammates such as Nguyen Huy Hoang, Le Manh Huy and senior Duong Hong Son.
Before the new 2020 season, Coach Ngo Quang Truong returned to SLNA to take on the position of team captain and according to Nghe An Newspaper's investigation, the coaching team has also changed accordingly.
Coach Nguyen Duc Thang will hold the position of Technical Director of the team, Nguyen Huy Hoang and Phan Nhu Thuat will be assistants to head coach Ngo Quang Truong. Accordingly, coach Nguyen Van Thinh will return to continue youth training.
