Phan Thi Ha Thanh crowned again in Japan
After the great victory of the 26th SEA Games, female gymnast Phan Thi Ha Thanh continued to maintain her impressive streak with a gold medal at the prestigious friendly tournament recently held in Japan. The achievement that helped Ha Thanh win the vault event was 14,300 points...
Although it was only an international friendly tournament, Toyota Cup 2011 still attracted many of the world's top athletes from many strong countries such as: China, Russia, Germany, Bulgaria, USA... In the horse jumping event, Ha Thanh had to face two strong opponents, Anja Rheinbay (Germany) and the runner-up of ASIAD 16, Rie Tanaka from the host country.

Having to compete with many strong opponents, Phan Thi Ha Thanh still competed impressively and successfully performed many difficult moves to win the gold medal in the horse vault event with an average score of 14.300.
The score that the Hai Phong athlete just won is not as high as the achievement that helped her win the world bronze medal (14,666 points). But that amount of points still helped Ha Thanh "surpass" Rie Tanaka (13,275 points) and Anja Rheinbay (12,387 points) to win the championship title.
In the male event, Nguyen Ha Thanh also competed impressively to win the silver medal in the horse vault event.
After the friendly tournament, Phan Thi Ha Thanh and her teammates will focus on the 2012 London Olympic qualifying round with the goal of helping Vietnamese gymnastics win more tickets to the Olympics. Previously, Phan Thi Ha Thanh officially won a ticket to the London Olympics next year.
