Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Le Hai Binh |
“Vietnam has full legal basis and historical evidence to affirm its indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. All foreign activities in these two areas without Vietnam’s approval are illegal and worthless.
Taiwan's decision to send reporters to Ba Binh Island in Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago, despite concerns and protests from Vietnam and the international community, is a serious violation of Vietnam's sovereignty, escalating tensions, and is not beneficial to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea as well as bilateral relations.
We resolutely oppose and demand that Taiwan respect Vietnam's sovereignty, not repeat any actions that escalate tensions and complicate the situation, and at the same time make positive contributions to the common efforts to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea."./.
