According to RIA Novosti on April 21, former Pentagon advisor Douglas McGregor shared on social network X that the war in Ukraine is over, sending money there is "useless". At the same time, Mr. McGregor raised questions about the budget to solve the crisis on the US southern border.

Meanwhile, the European Union and NATO welcomed the US House of Representatives' passage of this budget bill.

Writing on social network X, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: "I welcome the US House of Representatives' approval of a large new aid package for Ukraine. Ukraine is using weapons provided by NATO allies to soften Russia's fighting capabilities."

Such supplies would bring better security to Europe and North America, Mr Stoltenberg argued.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell also welcomed the vote in the US House of Representatives and stressed that such support is necessary for Kiev in its confrontation with Russia.

The US House of Representatives on April 20 passed a bill allocating nearly $61 billion to Ukraine. After being approved by the House, the document will be sent to the Senate for consideration.

The decision of the US House of Representatives to allocate additional aid to Kiev was predictable, but the aid will further destroy Ukraine and enrich the US, said Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

In addition to the Ukraine bill, the US House of Representatives passed three more bills on foreign aid, including aid packages for Ukraine, Israel, the Indo-Pacific region, and the Iran sanctions bill.
