6 businesses fined for spreading spam messages
The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a decision to fine 6 businesses, with a total fine of 535 million VND for violations in sending and distributing spam messages, messages related to lottery, gambling, and providing illegal digital content services.
Of which, 3 enterprises were fined the same amount of 120 million VND, with 3 similar violations. They are BiBo Media Company Limited, providing services on the number 6x19 (headquarters, room 101, An Minh company building, zone 8, Nong Trang ward, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province, with Mr. Pham Tien Anh as Chairman of the Company); Vietnam Digital Entertainment and Telecommunication Joint Stock Company, providing services on the number 6x91 (headquarters, 35 Phan Huy Chu, group 4, Quang Trung ward, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province, with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy as Chairman of the Board of Directors); NetViet Service Technology Joint Stock Company, providing services on the 2 numbers 6x32 and 5042 (headquarters, group 26, zone 4, Duu Lau ward, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province, with Mr. Le Thanh Tu as Chairman of the Board of Directors).
The three companies were fined for three acts: VND50 million for sending and distributing spam messages; VND20 million for not providing or providing incomplete information about prices, fees, and methods for canceling content services via text messages; VND50 million for providing, exchanging, transmitting, storing, and using information and services with gambling and lottery content or serving gambling and lottery. The total fine that the three companies had to pay was VND360 million.
The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications also fined two enterprises: NETIT Joint Stock Company, which is providing services on the 8x16 number (headquartered at 66A Dang Tien Dong, Trung Liet, Dong Da, Hanoi, with Mr. Ngoc Thanh Hoang as Director) and HRT Vietnam Media Joint Stock Company, which provides services on the 6x17 number (headquartered at 29, Lane 77 Bui Xuong Trach, Khuong Dinh, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi, with Mr. Nguyen Van Bao as Director). Each of these enterprises was fined 45 million VND for sending and distributing spam messages.
An Hung Phat Investment Joint Stock Company, providing services on the 6x88 number, was fined for two acts: Sending and distributing spam messages with a fine of 45 million VND; providing, exchanging, transmitting, storing, and using information and services with gambling and lottery content or serving lottery and gambling activities was fined 40 million VND. The total fine that this company had to pay was 85 million VND.
