The owner of the steel billet furnace in Nam Dan was fined 8 million VND.

(Baonghean.vn) - The province's interdisciplinary investigation team decided to administratively sanction Hien Phuc steel smelting furnace (Van Dien commune, Nam Dan district) for causing a serious work accident.

Previously, at 0:10 a.m. on June 26, 2014, an explosion occurred at the steel billet workshop of Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc's family in Cau Don hamlet, Van Dien commune, Nam Dan, injuring 4 workers. As a result, 2 people died during the emergency treatment at the hospital and 2 people were injured.

After the inspection, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team concluded on the form of handling violations against the owner of the facility. Specifically: Handling administrative violations in the field of labor according to the provisions of Decree No. 95/2013/ND-CP dated October 22, 2013 of the Government against Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, owner of Hien Phuc steel production facility with 2 acts: using labor without training in labor safety, not ensuring labor hygiene for workers; Violating point b, clause 2, article 17 of the Decree: using labor in violation of regulations on the use of machinery, equipment, and materials with strict safety requirements, as prescribed in point b, clause 5, article 17 of Decree No. 95. The total fine is 8 million VND.
