Vinh Long TV station fined 85 million VND for television advertising violations
News from the Ministry of Information and Communications on the afternoon of January 10 said that the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has issued a decision to administratively fine Vinh Long Radio and Television Station a total of VND85 million.

This act violates the provisions of Point a, Clause 2, Article 68, Decree No. 158/2003/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the fields of culture, sports, tourism and advertising. The fine is 7.5 million VND.
Vinh Long Radio and Television Station also did not clearly read the warning "This product is not a medicine and does not have the effect of replacing medicine" when advertising functional foods on television.
This act violates the provisions of Clause 1, Article 70, Decree No. 158/2003/ND-CP and is subject to a fine of VND 7.5 million.
In particular, Vinh Long Radio and Television also advertised the product as a functional food on television with unclear content, causing misunderstanding that the product was a medicine. This act violated the provisions of Point a, Clause 4, Article 68, Decree No. 158/2003/ND-CP, the fine is 70 million VND.
