Yesterday (April 26), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation launched the "Red Blood Drops" campaign in the summer of 2011.

The campaign will take place from May 8 to September 2 with the goal of mobilizing 271,500 donors and receiving 193,800 units of blood. According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, this year's voluntary blood donors will be expanded, especially cadres, workers, civil servants, and young people in agencies, businesses, schools, armed forces units, and residential areas.

Young people register to volunteer to donate blood.

In this campaign, the "Vietnam E-blood Bank" with the participation of 100% of provinces and cities and 6,500 agencies, organizations and enterprises with thousands of blood donors is also expected to be built. Propagandists will directly propagate and advise at least 6.5 million people on voluntary blood donation.

Many meaningful activities will also be held nationwide within the framework of the "Pink Blood Drops" program in the summer of 2011. Typical examples include the "Pink Drops for Children" program to call on organizations and individuals to donate blood and give gifts to sick children; the "Pink Week" program to call on and encourage managers, officials, party members, members, employees and young people to participate in the blood donation week and many exchange activities, cultural performances, and competitions to learn about humanitarian blood donation; the "Gift of Life" program with sponsorship activities, exchanges, gift giving to blood donors, and organizations to honor blood donors...
