Launching the donation of artifacts to the Vietnam Press Museum
The launching ceremony of the donation of artifacts to the Vietnam Press Museum was held on December 20 in Hanoi. The activity is part of the "Project to collect documents, artifacts and images" organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Ha Minh Hue thanked journalists, individuals and organizations for actively and proactively donating valuable artifacts to the Vietnam Press Museum; affirming that these valuable artifacts and documents will be displayed and preserved safely and respectfully at the museum.
Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Ha Minh Hue emphasized that the Vietnam Journalists Association determined that the Vietnam Press Museum was built with the goal of both preserving and promoting the traditions of Vietnamese journalism and being a place for activities and professional exchange of members of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
With that meaning, the Museum hopes to continue to receive the response and donations of journalists, individuals and groups interested in preserving and developing the true values of the Vietnamese revolutionary journalism industry.
The artifacts collected and displayed at the Museum are related to the history of the formation of the Vietnamese revolutionary press; typical organizations and individuals of the press industry at home and abroad. The construction of the history of artifacts and scientific documents is carried out in accordance with the standards of the museum.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Trung, Standing Member of the Museum's Artifact Collection Advisory Board, the collection of documents and artifacts is not limited in time or quantity and will be carried out in two phases. In the immediate future, the Museum will focus on collecting a number of documents, artifacts, and collections on revolutionary journalism. At the same time, the Museum will collect documents and artifacts on pre-revolutionary journalism.
With the positive response of many veteran journalists, families of deceased journalists...; up to now, after a short time of implementation, the Vietnam Journalists Association has initially received more than 150 valuable artifacts from 11 journalists and their families.
Journalist Hoang Tung's family presented the following artifacts: OIJ Award to journalist Hoang Tung in original French, Journalist Card for the period 2001-2005,....
Journalist Phan Quang donated artillery shells from the Quang Tri battlefield in 1973; Kerosene stoves brought on business trips to Quang Binh and Quang Tri during the anti-American war; Samsung cameras donated by the Korean Broadcasting System KBS in 1989; Journalist Pham Thanh Long donated books: A Time with Red Scarves; 50 best children's songs of the century...
Implemented since 2012, the Project of collecting documents, artifacts and images is one of the four important activities of the Vietnam Press Museum Project. To effectively implement the project, the Vietnam Journalists Association has issued a Plan for collecting artifacts; preparing personnel and training museum staff; organizing activities to prepare for the construction of the museum...
From 2014-2015, the Vietnam Journalists Association will focus on researching, compiling and preparing scientific documents on artifacts; designing, constructing, and displaying museums,.../.
