Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan shared: “Traffic safety is one of the top concerns of the country today. Propaganda work to influence the psychology and behavior of traffic participants is an extremely important solution to ensure traffic safety.
In recent years, the information and propaganda work on traffic safety has been promoted with a variety of contents, mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system, all levels and sectors from the central to local levels, and the entire population. The propaganda work on traffic safety has contributed to controlling and reducing the number of traffic accidents in our country.
Implementing the project on traffic safety propaganda for the period 2013 - 2015 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 2043 dated November 5, 2013, the Ministry of Information and Communications has proactively deployed many traffic safety propaganda activities. Localities have created many good ways of doing things, and popularized many good models, bringing traffic safety propaganda work into depth, regularly, continuously and long-term. Mass media and grassroots information systems have had many appropriate ways of propagating information safety, attracting many classes of people to participate.
Thanks to that, the Party's directives and resolutions on traffic safety have been conveyed and quickly put into practice, gradually permeating every citizen, family, neighborhood, hamlet, village, and hamlet.
Propaganda work has actively contributed to the achievements in ensuring traffic safety in recent times, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's political, economic, cultural and social tasks."
Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan also emphasized: “The contest for composing propaganda posters on traffic safety is a meaningful activity for artists, citizens... to express their thoughts through creative works, diversifying forms of propaganda on traffic safety.
The contest is organized to innovate the propaganda, dissemination and education of traffic safety laws to all classes of people to raise awareness of voluntarily complying with the law when participating in traffic, promote the building of traffic culture, enhance the effectiveness of State management in tightening the management of transport business and controlling vehicle load.
Appreciating the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, commented: “No matter how long the directive document is, it is often not as valuable as a picture. Because sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Hopefully, the contest will bring spiritual “food” about traffic safety that is not dry, so that when people see the work, they will be motivated to comply with traffic safety.”
