The Directive clearly stated that, during the most difficult, arduous and fierce period of the resistance war against the French colonialists, on June 11, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh issued a call for patriotic emulation to arouse the patriotism of all people, creating immense spiritual and material strength, leading our country's revolution from one glorious victory to another.
President Ho Chi Minh's patriotic emulation ideology has always been developed and creatively applied by our Party and State in each revolutionary period.

In recent years, the patriotic emulation movement nationwide has had positive changes. The patriotic emulation tradition of our people is a valuable spiritual motivation, creating a combined strength, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security and international integration of the country.

Emulation movement closely follows key and urgent tasks

To practically celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation, the Prime Minister requested ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to launch emulation movements closely following the key and urgent tasks of sectors, fields, agencies, units, and localities from the beginning of 2013, combined with summarizing the implementation of tasks in 2012, and making achievements to celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation.

Activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation were organized in appropriate and economical forms, combined with meetings, commendations and honors of advanced models and new factors in the patriotic emulation movement and in "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example" by agencies, localities and units on the occasion of the anniversary of Uncle Ho's Birthday, May 19, 2013 and the Traditional Day of Patriotic Emulation, June 11, 2013.

Through patriotic emulation movements, ministries, branches and localities proactively discover, reward or submit to competent authorities for timely reward collectives and individuals with many achievements; focus on rewarding individuals who directly work, fight, labor and study; reward small collectives with many achievements; discover new factors emerging from emulation movements for reward.

Open a column introducing good people and good deeds

The Central Emulation and Reward Committee presides over and coordinates with the Central Ministries, Departments, branches, organizations and the Hanoi People's Committee to organize activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation in a practical, solemn and economical manner by organizing a ceremony to report achievements at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, seminars...

Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, central and local press agencies open columns to introduce good people and good deeds in patriotic emulation movements; organize exchanges with typical advanced examples on Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, and other central and local press agencies.

The Prime Minister requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations to widely disseminate information to union members and members about actively participating in patriotic emulation movements; closely coordinate with Party committees and authorities at all levels to promote activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation.
