Launching Vietnam tourism gift design contest
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a contest and selected gift designs to promote foreign tourism.
This is the first time there has been a gift design contest for Vietnam tourism to promote the creativity of artists and artisans.
The contest design includes 2 types: State-level gifts and popular gifts. With the contest gift designs, the Organizing Committee has high requirements for aesthetics, uniqueness, conveying the characteristics of people, cultural traditions, customs, unique landscapes, and costumes of Vietnam. The State-level gift design needs to be highly applicable, convenient for manufacturing and production. Meanwhile, the popular gift design needs to be able to produce in large quantities at a price suitable for all consumers.

Designs must have their own creative research, absolutely do not copy products available on the domestic and foreign markets.
The organizers encourage designs to focus on choosing lightweight, durable materials that do not change or deform with climate changes, are convenient for carrying, holding, exchanging, and packaging, are safe for human health, and are environmentally friendly.
The time to receive entries is from June 10-20 at the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition (38 Cao Ba Quat, Hanoi).
The Organizing Committee will award 20 prizes in 2 types of gifts, each prize worth 10 million VND.
Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Director of the Center for Promotion of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that Vietnam tourism is in dire need of beautiful gift designs while the demand for gifts and souvenirs for tourists, especially international visitors, is very high. The gift designs in the past mainly relied on private forces to both design and produce, so the quality was not really guaranteed.
According to Mr. Hoang, in many countries around the world, tourist gifts, whether big or small, extremely sophisticated or simple, all represent the most distinctive features of that country, making tourists very excited and remember them for a long time. For example, gifts from Paris (France) are the Eiffel Tower; Denmark has a mermaid; Belgium has a statue of a peeing boy; Myanmar has hand puppets..../.
