Previously, at 7:30 a.m. on May 18, at the trail area between Covid-19 epidemic prevention checkpoints No. 1 and No. 2 of the unit (in Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district), the patrol team of the Nam Can International Border Guard Station discovered Vi Van May, born in 1992, and Vi Van Anh, born in 1987, both residing in Huoi Xa village, Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district, illegally entering Vietnam.

Through initial verification, these people confessed that they were all working in Laos. Due to fear of being quarantined to prevent Covid-19 in Laos, they escaped back to Vietnam by illegally crossing the border.

Currently, these 5 people have been disinfected, had their body temperature measured, made medical declarations, and were quarantined to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic according to regulations. They will then be prosecuted for illegal entry.
