Binh Thanh District Police in coordination with market management inspected the case of a series of motorbikes stalling after filling up with gas at Lan Anh gas station.

On the afternoon of October 7, a source from Binh Thanh District Police said that after testing gasoline samples taken at Lan Anh gas station, National Highway 13, Ward 26, Binh Thanh District, and gasoline samples inside the gas tank of a motorbike that stalled after being refueled at this gas station, the samples contained methanol and water.

Authorities continue to clarify quality at Lan Anh gas station

Regarding the incident of a series of motorbikes stalling after filling up at the Lan Anh gas station (September 26 - Lao Dong Newspaper reported), Binh Thanh District Police coordinated with market management and took 4 samples of gasoline from customers' motorbikes and 3 samples of gasoline from the Lan Anh gas station's tank. The gasoline samples were analyzed by the Technical Center for Standards, Measurement and Quality 3 to show that they contained methanol and water. However, according to Binh Thanh District Police, to reach a final conclusion on why the gasoline contained methanol and water, Binh Thanh District Police sent a dispatch requesting the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology to support the technical and safety inspection of the tank. After synthesizing the analysis results from the authorities, Binh Thanh District Police will announce the conclusion on the specific cause of why the gasoline samples taken from the Lan Anh gas station contained methanol and water. As for the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department, this case is currently being investigated to find the cause and how to handle the Lan Anh gas station. The HCM City Market Management Department has not yet received the results of the analysis of the gasoline samples. When there is a conclusion of violations from the authorities, the HCM City Market Management Department will handle the case according to regulations.
