Ba Vi milk production line of poor quality discovered
On the morning of June 5, the Hanoi City Interdisciplinary Inspection Team inspected food hygiene and safety at Xuan Mai Milk Joint Stock Company (sub-area 2, Thuy Xuan Tien commune, Chuong My district).
At the time the inspection team arrived, the company's headquarters was operating a production line for bottled fresh milk and a number of milk products under the brand name of Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company. Mr. Phung Phuong Nam, Director of Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company, said that the entire production line was contracted by Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company to Xuan Mai Milk Joint Stock Company for processing. Currently, this processing workshop has a raw material warehouse (30m2) and a finished product warehouse (20m2). The number of employees of Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company working here is 17, including 13 direct workers.

During the inspection, the inspection team discovered that 6 product samples of Ba Vi Fresh Milk Company being processed here had labels similar to product labels of another company producing and trading cow's milk products in Ba Vi district. Mr. Phung Phuong Nam admitted that the "Ba Vi Fresh Milk" label that this company was using had not been permitted by the People's Committee of Ba Vi district.
The inspection team has drawn up a record and sealed all the cartons and labels with the sign “Ba Vi Fresh Milk” currently at the processing factory to await investigation and handling. It is known that a few days before, Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company was also inspected by Market Management Team No. 14 - Hanoi Market Management Department and recorded a record of administrative violations for signs of using fake and counterfeit labels.
Regarding the quality of milk products of Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company, Mr. Han Tu Do - Deputy Chief Inspector of Hanoi Department of Health, member of the interdisciplinary inspection team - said that previously, the Hanoi Department of Health Inspector had taken a number of product samples of this Company for testing. The results showed that two product samples, "100% pasteurized fresh cow's milk, clean milk" (Mfg: 19-5-2012; Expiry date: 27-5-2012) and "100% pasteurized fresh goat's milk, clean milk" (Mfg: 14-5-2012; Expiry date: 22-5-2012) did not meet the food hygiene and safety standards for Coliforms and Ecoli.
In addition, there are 2 products of this company that do not have a declaration file and product standard certificate. At the time the inspection team arrived, Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company could not present the file and invoice for some raw materials (sugar, additives) used in product processing. This company also could not provide the exact quantity of products supplied to the market daily and monthly.
With the above violations, the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Inspection Team requested Ba Vi Fresh Milk Joint Stock Company to stop producing and circulating on the market 3 products: "100% pasteurized fresh cow's milk - clean milk - no sugar", "100% pasteurized fresh goat's milk - clean milk" and "100% pasteurized fresh cow's milk - clean milk - wild honey". The team took samples of 6 products to test for food safety and hygiene quality for handling.
