From information from the public about a group of street vendors in rural and mountainous areas, including some counterfeit goods such as mouthwash, feminine hygiene solutions, do oil, sanitary napkins... of famous brands, PC 46 Department of Nghe An Provincial Police started an investigation. After a period of collecting information, PC 46 Department discovered and caught the subjects selling counterfeit goods in Tuong Duong, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau districts, and simultaneously searched 8 families in Dien Kim commune (Dien Chau), seizing many counterfeit goods.

Expanding the investigation, at 6:00 a.m. on January 28, 2015, Task Force 124G (Economic Police Department of Nghe An Police) coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Police to execute arrest warrants and simultaneously search 3 counterfeit goods production facilities in Go Vap District and District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, led by 2 subjects: Than Huu Phuoc, born in 1974, residing at 36/3z Quang Trung Street, Ward 11, Go Vap District (Ho Chi Minh City) and subject Luong Thanh Tung, born in 1982, residing at Dong Hung Thuan 2 Street, Ward 11, District 12 (Ho Chi Minh City).

The search lasted more than 12 hours, the Task Force seized about 15 tons of counterfeit goods and related materials used to produce dozens of counterfeit goods, mainly Listerine mouthwash (made in Thailand), feminine hygiene solution of a famous domestic brand and essential oils, with tens of thousands of products bottled and ready to be bottled, equivalent to a value of about 1.5 billion VND. The Task Force seized machines, means of producing counterfeit goods and many important documents and temporarily detained related subjects.

The establishment owned by Than Huu Phuoc in the business registration is to produce hair dye, but he has colluded with subjects to produce fake products of famous brands. Phuoc himself buys raw materials floating in Ben Thanh market, mixes them into products, then buys labels, even anti-counterfeit stamps to stick on. From here, the products are received by Luong Thanh Tung and distributed to many provinces and cities across the country.

This is the biggest project ever, successfully destroying a counterfeit goods production line from Ho Chi Minh City to many provinces and cities across the country, including Nghe An, causing serious damage to the health of consumers.
